After I had got a hang of the sport, I had to design a snowboard. It first started with a Christmas gift for my then boyfriend now fiancé, but then I designed another for myself and one for a close friend.
The theme of the first board was centered around this quote by Albert Einstein, “To keep your balance, you must keep moving.” Not only is it a great concept to apply to life as a whole, but it fit perfectly into the mindset of snowboarding. The supporting graphics were a stripe pattern as a nod to the doppler effect and all the moon phases forming a square to match my board.
My board design also had a quote in the middle, this time from Theodore Roosevelt: “Keep your eyes on the stars, and your feet on the ground." The night time tree line and moon phases across the sky link together the quote with my own personal interests in nature and astronomy.
This third design is just as goofy as the individual who rides it. He's a big fan of Lord of the Rings and you'll never catch him on the mountain without a Coors Banquet, so this park board was created to match his crazy energy.
