A family friend reached out for a cover image for his new personal project: a podcast called Bad News that shares surf music from the 50s and 60s. It was vital to his vision that the cover image showed a record and tune arm to communicate what the podcast was about. I made sure the design delivered just that while keeping the composition visually interesting. Stylistically, the cover image draws inspiration from graphic design in the 50s and 60s, while staying simple for better legibility wherever the podcast can be found.
